Jonathon Yeo is one of the UK's leading portrait artists being known for his portraits of iconic figures. In 2014 The Lowry staged a retrospective of the artist's work. He developed Hodgkins Lymphoma, which ended his formal studie in film but during his recovery gave him the time to learn how to paint. Although Erin is not typical of his work I think the negative space created by not painting in cloth creates a really strong image while the proportion of the painting allows the artisti to control how your eye travels down the image.
