Achieving Net Zero

Achieving Net Zero came about after a long discussion in the summer of 2023 about the country’s energy crisis between friends Iain and James. It quickly became clear that while there is a wealth of information on sustainability, renewable energy, and net zero, much of it isn’t easily accessible to the general public—or, more importantly, to people like Iain as a parent of two teenagers. This sparked the idea that a lecturer in communication design and an engineering professor could use information graphics to explain key concepts in a more engaging and accessible way...

Current Exhibitions:
Aberdeen Science Centre invited Achieving Net Zero to show a selection of posters at their venue as a permanent exhibit.

Bryan Snelling, Chief Executive at Aberdeen Science Centre, said: “We are pleased to be hosting the Achieving Net Zero exhibition and look forward to welcoming visitors who come to see this engaging artwork. Our aim is to inspire future generations and instil a lifelong interest in STEM subjects in the future workforce, so we have a key role to play in supporting the road to net zero".

Robert Gordon University All the Achieving Net Zero posters were displayed at A1 size in the Sir Ian Wood Building, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. The posters were showcased as part of Climate Action Day, part of Climate Week North East at RGU, which opened on 30th Sep 2025.

The event highlighted the university’s efforts to create a more sustainable future, demonstrating how it aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, reduces emissions, and promotes its research and initiatives.

Thanks to the RGU Sustainability Group and Veronica Strachan for supporting the Achieving Net Zero project.
