![]() Phil started out working at Disney moving onto DC Comics were he has working on Batgirl, Superman, Danger Girl to name just a few. He is probably better known for his 60's inspired painting which I really love but this illustration of Audrey Hepburn caught my attention as it is so elegantly illustrated which suits the character so well. ![]() The very talented artist Elfan is a fulltime illustrator living in Bandung, Indonesia. I really like the loose line work of this illustration and the minimul use of colour to really lift the image off the page. She has produced some amazing work for video games and graphic design. This illustration caught my eye really for the use of patterns within the realistic image. It’s really unusual while the type adds the comedy. I’m also amazed at the amount of work she has on her website which is well worth a dig through as the quality of illustration is fantastic through out. Lois currently works as a freelance illustrator and animator from Utrecht (the Netherlands). All I can say is Wow! This is beautiful and elegant image reminds me of my early days in college learning technical drawing and my time climbing Munros with friends when I lived in Glasgow. This image is created with transfer and acrylic on wood panel. To see more of Jason's work please visit: http://www.jasonthielke.com ![]() This striking coloured pencil on craft paper illustration works really well with the use of white in the woman's hair and outline. I also like the compostion which draws your eye to the woman and then guides it out through the houses by the thin white outline around the central figure. This works so well and lifts her off the page. Don't know anything else about the artist apart from I like the work so I guess thats all that matters :) If you want to view more of the artist work please visit: http://www.behance.net/ pinkglove ![]() It's a good sign in my book when you struggle to decide which image you would like to select for your blog from a talented artists website. New York based artist Lou Pimentel's work is amazing not just technically but also in the stories it can tell. This image stood out most to me as it reminds me so much of the little things my five year old son will do when he is playing at being one member of his favourite super hero team. It can be a lonely job for a young boy with only a baby sister to help save the world! Just as well he has a dad that loves a bit of turtle power as well. His stylish work harks back to the illustrative style of the 60s and 70s yet still looks very contampory. To see more of Marc's work please visit: http://www.marcmartin.com.au/ |
