Sandra's illustration are influenced by vintage fashion. Her work has a elegant and unique style to it which sings out to memories from a more elegant time. This influence mixed in with torn paper and typography overprinting gives the illustration an aged look that really suits her style. Petra Dufkova is from the Czech Republic. She has won a Best Illustration Award at China Fashion Week and creates images that are beautifully executed. I really like the way she can provide just enough information to provide a highly detailed illustration. Petra work is presented through Illustration Ltd. His work is truly elegant, simple yet so detailed. As he mentions on his own artist profile with the arrival of computer in the design world I have forgotten how to use a pencil. I have been looking at so many illustrators over the last few months and thinking about were to start I had forgotten about the joy of just placing pencil to paper. Of course Nipper is an expert in this but he has reminded me about the most important part being a designer/illustrator. Just enjoy it! I really love this style of illustration and would like to try and emulate it someday. Check out Bolognesi blog on her web site as she has also been collaborating lately with other artists and has created some really great work that present her watercolours in new ways alongside the other artists involved. Klassen has worked on a number of children's books such as Cats Night Out and animations for the BBC’s coverage of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Having spent alot of time lately reading bed time stories to my children its always interesting to see the amazing range of illustrators that are out there producing childrens books. Klassens work is always stunning and always captures the atmosphere of the story it illustrates. His paintings investigate the female portrait through bold brush strokes and colour. Although I am not a painter by any means I really love this artists work and the way he can mix highly detailed brush work with loss and bold areas of colour. The company Invisible Creatures was always going to happen! Their impressive portfolio of work never gets pinned down to one style and they pick and mix their styles with ease and skill. This poster in particular caught my attentions and stylishly takes it markers from 60’s European designs. To see more work by Invisible Creatures please visit http://www.invisiblecreature.com I came across a poster for the band The Avett Brothers a while back and loved the artwork for the concert so after a wee bit of digging finally found the website for this illustration and many more beautiful pieces of work by Charles Crisler who works under the company name 27 Design Co.
