Delicate hand torn paper sculptures of birds and other wild life. All are hand sewn to hold them together with subtle ink wash to add contrast and shading. Truly beautiful work...

Love the bold pencil marks and the facial expression of the model mixed in with the the cartoon colour flowers in the beard. Would like to try this in my own illustrations...coming soon... He takes pulp fiction paper backs and cuts the protaginist on the cover out and bends them round to interact with the rest of the book. Clever photography then brings these mini adventures to life. Been done to death in the art schools but Allen is still by far the best. They are based in Cologne and experiment with the possibilities of bulb exposure and painting. Truly amazing work... I find his work inspiring and disturbing and love how he can move between illustration and photography. The image shown here is from red watercolour on paper series (2006) and captures multiple points in time which for a portrait seem unusual yet works well across the 24 images created for this project. They have been producing limited edition prints by some of the worlds leading illustrators since 1998 and the Tron poster shown is one of the latest in their collection. This screenprint is created by Martin Ansin. Ansin has been a long time contributer to Mondo and has produced illustrations covering, Planet of the Apes, Star Trek, Metropolis etc. To see more of the work produced by Mondo visit their web site at: http://www.mondotees.com Hello thanks for having a look at my new website.
