Sustainability on Campus

Iain worked with the Robert Gordon University, Estates Department to create a poster to show the range of sustainable projects currently taking place on the campus. 

The poster was displayed at "Our Campus, Our World" to showcase the Universities efforts to achieve a more sustainable future for all, while aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, to reduce its emissions, and promote staff research linked to the sustainable topic.​

The poster explains some of the key projects currently happing on the RGU campus.
  • Waterside Farm RGU is restoring a 55-acre biodiversity hub with The Habitat People, supported by a £100,000 SRM Foundation donation. Efforts include reintroducing wetlands, relocating trees, and removing invasive species.
  • Sir Ian Wood Building: Ground Source Heat Pumps and solar panels generate significant energy savings.
  • Ishbel Gordon Building: LED lighting saves 441,661 kWh annually. A new chiller and variable speed drives enhance efficiency.
  • Gray’s School of Art: New boilers save 290,000 kWh yearly. Design Haus upgrade improves insulation and heating.
  • Campus-wide: 75 waterless urinals save 10 million liters of water annually.​
  • Water Efficiency 75 waterless urinals on campus save approximately 10 million litres of water a year. That is enough water to fill 204 swimming pools
  • Sustainable Transport RGU promotes sustainable travel with electric vans, car-sharing, discounted rail and bus tickets, and extensive cycling support, including bike hire and repair services
