Crathes Castle
A Visual History

In 2011 Iain completed a part-time Master of Design. His Masters project investigated the visual history of Crathes Castle.

The outcomes of the project revealed historical findings which have been long lost through the use of information graphics.

One of the information graphics created for the project went on to win the National Trust for Scotland’s Emerging Artist Award and the Trust also offered to show a selection of the work in a permanent exhibition at the castle.

'Construction' shows the visual history of Crathes Castle and demonstrates visually how the building has evolved over the years from when it was first built in the early 1500's onwards. This information graphic won the  National Trust for Scotland’s Emerging Artist Award.
