From the hare released at the start of a battle by Boudicca, Queen of the Iceni tribe, as she led a rebellion against the Roman Empire in AD 60, to the falcon associated with the sun god Horus and the divine kingship it symbolised for the pharaohs of ancient Egypt.
Each print focuses on a different animal’s role in a significant historical event, revealing how animals have been intertwined with moments of triumph, tragedy, and transformation.
Designed in a contemporary visual style and incorporating augmented reality, each story is presented in the language of the specific country or historical period.
